Israel: We killed the commander of the Hamas air force

According to the Israeli military, Hamas air force commander Asem Abu Raqaba was killed in the airstrike on Friday.

Homeland Defense Forces report that Asem Abu Raqaba, head of Hamas’ Aerial Array, was killed in a nighttime Israeli airstrike. Israeli intelligence reports that Rakaba was killed during attacks by IDF fighters. “Abu Raqab was responsible for UAVs, drones, paragliders, aerial detection and air defense of Hamas,” the Israeli army said in a post on social media.

Rakaba is alleged to have participated “in the planning of the massacre of people living in the areas around the Gaza Strip on October 7. He led terrorists who infiltrated Israel by paragliding and was responsible for drone attacks on IDF posts.”

The night from Friday to Saturday in the Gaza Strip was marked by air strikes and heavy artillery attacks. Mobile telephony and internet were disconnected. “Tonight we are expanding our ground operation in the Gaza Strip,” Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said Friday evening. The Israeli Air Force attacked Gaza from the air and Palestinians reported that Israeli soldiers had entered the Gaza Strip. Airstrikes and heavy artillery attacks continued in the northern areas of the Gaza Strip.

Jabłoński: We condemn “collective punishment” against the population

“Poland firmly opposes all violence and terrorism. Hamas’s attacks on Israel, especially the brutal crimes of October 7, deserve the highest condemnation – and their perpetrators deserve the harshest punishment. Poland continues to call for the immediate release of all hostages held by Hamas. We also continue to call on Israel and other parties to allow the evacuation of the civilian population – in particular Polish civilians. The perpetrators of these crimes must be punished. Poland strongly condemns all actions that constitute collective punishment against the population of the Gaza Strip,” emphasized Deputy Foreign Minister Paweł Jabłoński.

“We call for an end to these actions and a cessation of violence. Poland abstained from voting on the UN resolution because it lacked a clear condemnation of Hamas’ crimes. The amendment on this issue supported by Poland was unfortunately rejected “This kind of one-sidedness is inappropriate and weakens the credibility of the international community. In any case, Poland supports all actions aimed at ending military operations that victimize civilians. A human life is the highest value – there is no justification for killing innocents.” emphasizes the representative of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
