Middle East, Erdogan appeals to Israel: no more madness in Gaza

Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan calls on Israel to “stop the attacks” against Gaza, to “get out of the state of madness”. “Israeli bombings against Gaza, which continue to increase and intensify, have once again hit innocent women, children and civilians, intensifying the humanitarian crisis”, we read in a message distributed on the social network to the “Great demonstration for Palestine” scheduled for Saturday, October 28, at Ataturk Airport, in Istanbul, as a show of support for the Palestinians.

Turkey works to prevent the spread of conflict between Israel and Hamas. This was also reiterated by Ankara’s Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, who added, addressing Israel: “You have to make a choice.” “If Israel wants to live in peace, it must allow Palestinians to live on its land and have a state. The strategy of violence will not bring peace,” said Fidan. “Israel’s violations must be stopped. We cannot remain silent. At this moment it is vital to prevent the spread of the conflict”, the Turkish minister then reiterated. Fidan returned to a concept clarified by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan: Turkey does not consider Hamas to be terrorists. “We do not consider Hamas a terrorist organization. Likewise, we told Hamas not to consider them part of the Palestinian state. For us, the terrorists are Ypg (Kurdish separatists in northern Syria Ed) and Feto (the 2016 coup plotters)”, specified the head of Ankara’s diplomacy.
