Shani Louk was allegedly beheaded by Hamas militants

The images of Shani Nicole Louk half-naked leaning on the back of a pickup truck and being dragged by Hamas militants shocked the world. Today, after weeks of agony over his fate, we know that he is not only dead, but will also be beheaded. Only the skull of the German-Israeli woman who was kidnapped by Hamas at a music festival on October 7 and then taken around Gaza by the Palestinian militant group has been found. Israeli President Isaac Herzog told the German newspaper Bild. “The skull was found,” Herzog told Bild. “This means that these barbaric and sadistic animals simply cut off his head.” Herzog explained that Shani’s body had only now been identified, adding that the identification of 40 other bodies was pending because people had been abused, burned or most gruesomely dismembered. Louk, 23, was one of dozens of people captured by Hamas during a deadly attack on Israeli military and civilian communities that killed 1,400 people, mostly civilians.

The family initially thought he was alive but injured when he was kidnapped from the music festival, but now believe he was killed the same day, possibly shot in the head: “At least he didn’t suffer,” his mother, Ricarda Louk, told RTL. /ntv.family initially thought he was alive but injured when he was abducted from the music festival, but now believe he was killed the same day, possibly shot in the head.

This is the latest video showing the 23-year-old dancing near Kibbutz Re’ime on October 7. Shani Louk was born on February 7, 2001 to an Israeli father and a German mother: he lived in Tel Aviv, where he worked as a freelance tattoo artist.

On the day of the Hamas attack, Shani was with her boyfriend in the Negev desert, where the Supernova Sukkot Gathering music festival was being held for the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, about 5 kilometers from the Gaza-Israel barrier. He managed to speak to his mother on the phone in the middle of the attack, warning her about what was happening and telling her she didn’t know where to hide, she said.

In some images after the kidnapping, Shani Louk’s body in the Gaza Strip can be seen in the back of a pickup truck surrounded by heavily armed militia. A young man appears, infuriating the body. The video already showed a gunshot wound to the head, and Made Ricarda Louk confirmed her daughter’s identity from the tattoos below her knees.

According to information obtained, the Israeli Defense Forces found Shani Louk’s skull during operations in the north of the Gaza Strip. IDF officials say that the 23-year-old’s body was beheaded while being carried through the streets of Gaza.
