Israeli tanks and infantry attack Gaza from both sides

Israeli forces, including infantry soldiers and tanks, attacked Gaza from both sides. “Dozens of airstrikes” were also carried out.

A ground operation is underway in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. The American news agency Reuters reported on Monday about the attack by Israeli infantry on Gaza with the support of tanks and air force. The city would be attacked from the east and west.

Infantry and tank attacks on Gaza

“IDF forces continued their ground operation in the Gaza Strip in recent hours,” where they “destroyed terrorist infrastructure, including anti-tank rocket launchers,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in an official statement, quoted by CNN.

Israeli forces “killed dozens of terrorists who barricaded themselves in buildings and tunnels and tried to attack them,” IDF spokesman Admiral Daniel Hagari said. Four key Hamas members were reportedly killed.

Israel-Hamas war

On October 7, fighters from the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas carried out a massive attack on Israeli territory. Militants invaded border settlements, killing more than 1,300 civilians and taking about 200 hostages.

In response to the attack, Israel launched an unprecedented bombardment of the militant-controlled Gaza Strip, causing a humanitarian catastrophe for civilians. The Palestinian death toll rose to more than 7,700 on Saturday, according to the Gaza Strip Ministry of Health. Parts of the Gaza Strip have been destroyed. More than 1.4 million people fled their homes, with almost half taking refuge in schools and UN shelters.

Information appeared on Friday evening about the start of the ground operation of Israeli troops in the Gaza Strip. IDF forces entered the Gaza Strip using infantry troops, military equipment, drones and aviation. They previously reiterated their call for citizens to evacuate to the south.

Israel caused a power outage in the Gaza Strip, leaving the region without access to electricity, internet and mobile communications.
