Israel, rockets and drones from Yemen. And more will come from the Houthi rebels

A new threat to Israel. Yemen’s pro-Iranian Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for rocket and drone launches into the southern Jewish state and have vowed to carry out more. “The attacks were carried out out of a sense of religious, moral, humanitarian and national responsibility towards the people of Gaza, in the face of the weakness of the Arab world and the collusion of some Arab countries with Israel”, words from Yahya Sria, spokesman for the group. Sria stressed that this morning’s attack, which triggered alarm sirens in Eilat, is the third carried out by the Houthis since the start of the war due to the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7 and threatened to carry out others.

Previously, the Prime Minister of the Houthi government, Abdelaziz bin Habtour, had declared that the drones used in the attack “belong to the state of Yemen”. Allied with Iran, the Houthis captured Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, and control large areas of the country. This morning, the Israeli Arrow defense system intercepted rockets launched towards southern Israel, while military jets shot down drones. The defense forces are involved on multiple fronts, but there is still no talk of a wider war beyond the one fought in the Strip.
