The Wagner group, now led by Pavel, the son of Yevgeny Prigozhin, is again recruiting fighters. Recruitment began in the Urals.
As reported by the Ukrainian portal Suspilne, citing Russian media, the Wagner Group signs contracts with people between the ages of 20 and 55. The amount of compensation will depend on where the mercenary is sent. The payout will range from PLN 80,000. rubles and 240 thousand rubles (from about PLN 3.6 thousand to about PLN 10.8 thousand).
– We take those who already have combat experience, including those who were already in a private military company. The only difference is that we are taking people “in civilian clothes”, and not from places where their freedom has been deprived, one of the representatives of the Wagner group told journalists.
The Wagnerians, now led by Yevgeny Prigozhin’s son Pavel, are part of the Rosgvardiya (Russian National Guard).
The Wagner Group Rebellion
Recall that at the end of June Prigozhin organized a military uprising and sent a column of mercenaries to Moscow. Ultimately, the head of the Wagner team reached an agreement with the Kremlin and halted the operation, and Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested that the mercenaries who “stopped at the last line” should sign contracts with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation or would go to Belarus.
On August 23, an Embraer Legacy 600 aircraft from Prigozhin’s company, flying from Moscow to St. Petersburg, crashed in Tver Oblast. On board the machine were the founder of the Wagner Group, his deputy and head of security Valery Chekalov, as well as the commander of the formation Dmitry Utkin and several mercenaries. All passengers and three crew members (10 people in total) were killed.
On August 27, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation completed DNA testing of the disaster victims. All bodies were identified, including Prigozhin’s. The causes of the crash are still being explained by Russian prosecutors, but there are mainly two hypotheses: the plane was shot down by the S-300 anti-aircraft system and the explosion of a bomb on board.
