Why did Hamas say the state of war would be “permanent”?

Hamas promises a “permanent state of war” with the State of Israel on all fronts. This was said by Taher El-Nounou, the organization’s media advisor, interviewed by the New York Times. The leader also made a sort of appeal to potential allies: “The entire Arab world is on our side,” he said.

“No one is this calm anymore”

Khalil al-Hayya, one of leader Yahya Sinwar’s aides, echoed him again in the pages of the American newspaper: “We managed to put the Palestine issue back on the table – he explained – and now there is no one in the region calmer. We must change the whole equation. This war is fuel or “It wasn’t because we wanted workers; it wasn’t to improve the situation in Gaza; this war aims to completely reverse the situation.”

Commenting on the fact that Israel’s retaliation against the Gaza Strip caused thousands of victims among the civilian population, al-Hayya said that the terrorist organization predicted a large-scale operation of the Tel Aviv army: “It was known that the reaction to this would increase. A big action would be great, he continued, But we had to show people that the Palestinian cause would not die.

Carmon: “Gaza will be a war and refugee zone for 10 years”

“Israel will not be able to eliminate all Hamas gunmen; in the future there will be some kind of permanent war between Israel and the north of Gaza that could last a decade, and the south of the Strip with hundreds of thousands of refugees. I’m a pessimist, just a realist.” The speaker is Israeli analyst Yigal Carmon, founder of the Middle East Media Research Institute (Memri), which monitors media in the Arab world and Iran.

Carmon, who was part of Israeli military intelligence and a counterterrorism advisor to prime ministers Yitzhak Shamir and Yitzhak Rabin, was the only person to warn Israel of the danger of an attack in late August: “He announced Hamas – 30-40 thousand with money received from Qatar He created an army of men: one and a half billion dollars sent in the last decade with the permission of Israel and Netanyahu, who was expected to resign yesterday. Can you kill them all? Of course not, it is not possible. You can prevent Hamas from ruling the people, but you cannot kill them all. When the leaders of the organization are killed, war “It will end. I think Israel will do the same. Then say you did your job.”
