Walkers in a popular Cardiff park spotted a completely burnt out Asda van parked near the edge of a field. The van was parked outside the tennis courts on Bridge Road in Llandaff North, next to the Hailey Park courts, opposite Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf.
Emergency services, including South Wales Fire and Rescue Service from Ely station, attended the car fire shortly after 3pm on Tuesday 7 November. The fire is not considered intentional. For the latest Cardiff news, sign up to our newsletter here

A fire service spokesman said: “At 3.03pm on November 7, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to a vehicle fire in Llandaff North. The diesel vehicle was well alight when firefighters from Ely station arrived at 3.07pm using a hose reel to extinguish the flames. “The incident ended at 3:34 pm and the fire was ruled accidental.”
A witness sent photos of the damage to WalesOnline and said the van was completely destroyed. According to an Asda spokesperson, no one was injured in the incident. They added: “We are aware of this incident. “An ambulance arrived and there were no injuries.”
