A bankruptcy firm representing a popular wedding company has offered advice to brides left without their wedding dress after the shock closure. Many brides-to-be who bought their wedding dresses from Allison Jane were left in the dark after the company suddenly closed its stores in Swansea and Cardiff this month.

Cardiff girlfriend Rosie Moore was just one of Allison Jane’s clients who was “absolutely devastated” by the news. Despite paying £1,350 for her dream dress, she didn’t know where it was after the Cardiff store closed while she waited for it to be altered.

Rosie told WalesOnline on Tuesday, November 7: “I feel absolutely devastated. I went to a few different stores and finally felt like I found one that I liked and I had a great time while I was there. I don’t know. What to do now that I’m going to marry a woman, so buying another dress costs a lot of money. I don’t have enough money right now to buy a new one, so I’ll have to save up and hope I can get one on sale.” Join our WhatsApp news community here for the latest news

DON’T MISS OUT: “I’m getting married in a few days, but my wedding dress is ruined and the store is closed.”

But bankruptcy expert McAlister and Co. has advice for brides like Rosie who have paid a deposit to Allison Jayne Bridalwear but don’t know where their dress is. A company spokesperson said brides who paid a deposit should email [email protected]. Brides must include their name, contact details and the amount paid, as well as a description of the dress and the store where it was purchased, the spokesperson said.

When asked to explain how many brides have been affected and the financial details relating to the administration, the spokesperson said: “I am not sure at this time how many brides have been affected.[ed] or the financial health of companies, we are still collecting information to inform creditors.” WalesOnline understands that some brides have successfully recovered their Allison Jayne wedding dresses by contacting a bankruptcy firm.
