Hezbollah, the indiscretion that puts Moscow at stake: “Supersonic missile”

Lebanese Hezbollah militiamen claimed to have launched three drones into Israeli airspace, claiming to have hit two military sites of Tel Aviv troops. Israeli forces had already announced that they had intercepted one of the aircraft. Now, according to an indiscretion released by the Reuters agency and reported by Il Messaggero, the Lebanese Shiite and Islamic anti-Zionist paramilitary organization is threatening US Navy ships in the Middle East with a missile coming from Russia.

According to the British news agency, the P-800 Onikis, which in its export version is called Yakhont, is “a supersonic anti-ship cruise missile that was developed forty years ago by Npo Mashinostroyeniya during the USSR”. The flying body in question “has a range of 300 kilometers and carries a warhead with significant explosive potential. It is just under ten meters long and flies at around 3,000 kilometers per hour, according to a Newsweek analysis.”

The Kremlin, in turn, did not confirm this news and, therefore, Hezbollah’s possession of Russian missiles, also used in Syria and Ukraine. Dmitry Peskov, President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman, stated in fact that he cannot confirm whether the news published by Reuters is true. However, it must be remembered that Yakhont missiles were sold by Russia to Syria and that Hezbollah obtains its supplies from Syria.
