Israel, Netanyahu follows his own path in Gaza: “It will not be governed by the ANP”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has firmly announced that Israel will oppose the return of the Palestinian National Authority (PA) to Gaza after the end of the war against Hamas. During a press conference in Tel Aviv, Netanyahu categorically stated that he will not allow the establishment of a civil authority that promotes hatred of Israel, encourages violence against Israelis and threatens the very existence of the Jewish State: “There cannot, there cannot be an authority that raises its children to hate Israel, to kill Israelis, to eliminate the State of Israel, there cannot be an authority that pays the families of murderers based on the number of those (Israelis, ed.) they killed.”

He then openly criticized the president of the ANP, Mahmoud Abbas: “There cannot be an authority whose leader, 30 days later, has not yet condemned the terrible massacre (of October 7, ed.). There must be something more there. But in any case, we must have security control.” Netanyahu ultimately rejected any international pressure, stating that it will not change Israel’s belief in the right and duty to defend itself: “Any international pressure will not change our belief that It is our right and we have to defend ourselves. World leaders must continue to show their support for Israel and not give in to any pressure. If we want peace and security and to secure the future of the State of Israel, we must eliminate Hamas.” There is absolutely no sign of tone down from Netanyahu’s government.
