An agreement is close between Israel and Hamas for the release of 70 hostages, women and children, held in Gaza. An Israeli source revealed this to the “Washington Post”, according to which the agreement could be announced within a few days. “The general lines of the agreement were agreed,” the source told the American newspaper, according to which the hostages would be released in groups, in exchange for Palestinian women and young people detained in Israel.
According to the Washington Post, Israel is seeking the release of 100 women and children, while Hamas is willing to release 70. Arab sources claim that at least 120 Palestinian women and children in Israeli prisons could be released in exchange. Furthermore, Israel would accept a temporary ceasefire of up to 5 days, to allow the safe passage of hostages and the arrival of aid to civilians in Gaza.
