One person was taken to hospital after a crash closed part of the A48 in Carmarthenshire. The eastbound carriageway was closed between Cross Hands and Pont Abraham for just over an hour.

Emergency crews were called shortly after 1.40pm on Thursday (November 16) and the road was reopened at 3pm.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said they were called at 1.41pm to reports of a two-vehicle collision at Heol Parc Mawr in the Cross Hands area of ​​Llanelli.

The statement said: “We sent an ambulance and the Cymru High Acuity Response Team to the scene and one person was taken to Glangvilly Hospital.”
