A group of premature babies evacuated from the Gaza Strip

The World Health Organization said 31 premature babies have been evacuated from Gaza’s main hospital and are receiving ongoing care.

WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus says he is filled with admiration for the “heroic attitude of health workers in Gaza.” At the same time, the organization warns that more than 200 people – staff and patients – are trapped in Al-Shifa, the largest hospital in the Gaza Strip.

– Further actions are planned to evacuate them urgently – Ghebreyesus said, noting that this depends on the guarantee of safe passage. The Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza says more than 12,300 people have been killed in the area since Israel began military operations against Palestine.

A note from the Dutch embassy had been leaked. ‘Israel deliberately attacks civilian objects’

A confidential note from the Dutch embassy in Tel Aviv warned that the Israeli army “deliberately wants to cause enormous damage to infrastructure and civilian centers” in the Gaza Strip, explaining the “large number of deaths” among Palestinians. The note described Israel’s actions as “disproportionate” and “a violation of international treaties and laws of war,” the Dutch daily NRC reported.

The author of the document is the Attaché who, together with the military team, monitors the situation in the Gaza Strip. The report’s findings are in stark contrast to the Israeli military’s official statements. She states that she is doing everything possible to prevent the deaths of civilians in Palestine.

The note shows that the motive behind the Israeli government’s brutal approach is revenge. “Emotions and anger are very palpable during IDF briefings [armii izraelskiej]” – quotes the “NRC” document. The memo stated that the IDF uses lethal force to limit losses on its side. The Dutch embassy also noted that the IDF “uses elements of the Dahiya doctrine – a strategy first used during the 2006 war in Lebanon, which is expected to cause massive destruction of infrastructure and civilian centers while accepting that it will cause major losses among the civilian population.
