One of these was that of the Colombian president Gustavo Petro, who quotes a trill from the former president Ivan Duqueclaimed: “The far right has won in Argentina; it is society’s decision. Sad for Latin America and we will see… neoliberalism no longer has a proposal for society, it cannot respond to the current problems of humanity” .

This, as expected, did not go down well with Milei’s allies in Argentina. For example, Patricia Bullrich, one of the leaders of the political coalition Together for changeallies of the president-elect, assured that Petro’s trill was unfortunate and that “he was not well.”
“We have to pretend we didn’t hear it. Countries have relationships that should be permanent,” Bullirich said on Blu Radio.
He added that he hopes that: “Hearing these things hurts because the relationship between people and countries is permanent and “They cannot be as aggressive as President Petro was yesterday.”
