Ukraine, US announce aid package: what they send to Kiev

New aid of 100 million US dollars to Ukraine. The Biden administration’s announcement comes on the day of US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s surprise visit to Kiev. The objective is to respond to “Ukraine’s critical security and defense needs”, specifies the Department of Defense, highlighting that this is the “51st tranche of equipment provided” to Ukraine since August 2021.

The package includes “additional air defense capabilities, artillery ammunition, anti-tank weapons and other equipment to help Ukraine defend its sovereign territory and fight for its freedom from Russia’s war of aggression”, all worth 100 million dollars. The package includes Stinger missiles, a Himars system with ammunition, artillery shells, towing missiles, darts, as well as ammunition and other equipment.
