Middle East, Israel reveals names of prisoners. Who will be freed

The Palestinian Prisoners Association has published the names of 15 women and 15 young people who are scheduled to be released from Israeli prisons today as part of the hostage agreement between Hamas and Israel. Haaretz reports this. One of the prisoners expected to be released is Marwat al-Azza, an East Jerusalem journalist indicted on Monday for statements on social media, including one mocking an elderly woman kidnapped by Hamas on October 7. Al-Azza, who worked as a freelancer for NBC News, was charged with inciting terrorism and identifying with a terrorist organization.

Meanwhile, Hamas began handing over the fifth group of hostages to the Red Cross. The Wall Street Journal reports this, citing Egyptian sources. The release is part of the agreement between Hamas and Israel that led to a two-day extension of the truce in the ongoing war in the Middle East.
