Sexually abused women, tantric yoga guru arrested

He brainwashed women and later sexually abused them, forcing them to engage in sexual activities and also broadcasting them via video chat. Following these accusations, French authorities arrested the leader of a multinational tantric yoga organization. The Romanian national was arrested during a large police operation in the Paris region involving 175 police officers who made a total of 40 arrests in the French capital Seine-et-Marne and Val-de-Marne. and the Maritime Alps.

The leader of the organization, identified in the French media as Gregorian Bivolaru (71), is an internationally renowned yoga teacher and author. The investigation into him and his yoga federation, Movement for Spiritual Integration in the Absolute (Misa), began following reports of psychological manipulation and sexual abuse within the organization. Former members of Misa alerted authorities to the alleged abuses, the Guardian reported. Bivolaru is charged with human trafficking, organized kidnapping, rape and organized exploitation of vulnerability by members of a cult. International police agency Interpol has issued an arrest notice on behalf of Finnish authorities for the man wanted for alleged serious human trafficking. Websites linked to Bivolaru claim he was the victim of a vast conspiracy to discredit him.

The operation in France targeted many places used by the organization, where women were allegedly brainwashed and forced to have sexual intercourse. Places described as “ashrams” served as accommodation for female followers whom Bivolaru selected to begin their tantric yoga practices. Investigations found evidence that female students were forced to engage in sexual activities, including participating in explicit video chats, in order to earn money. These alleged activities, allegedly conducted under the guise of tantric yoga teachings, were part of a complex system of financial exploitation and control.
