Ukrainians blew up a train on the route between Russia and China

The SBU blew up a freight train in a tunnel on one of the important railway lines between Russia and China, Ukrainian media report.

The explosion on a key railway line in Russia’s far eastern Buryatia was the result of the actions of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Kiev Post and Ukrainska Pravda wrote, citing anonymous sources within the services.

According to these reports, the explosion took place on the night of November 29-30 in the Siewieromujski (Northnomujski) tunnel, almost 5,000. kilometers from the border of Ukraine. The tunnel is part of the Baikal-Amur main line, an important railway line north of the Trans-Siberian Railway and part of the rail network connecting Russia with China.

According to the publication’s sources, four explosives detonated on the freight train while it was moving. The train consisted of 41 fuel tankers, three aviation fuel tankers and six metal wagons.

– Russian FSB officers are working on site, and railway workers are trying in vain to minimize the effects of the SBU special operation – said a ‘KP’ source.

SBU sabotage in Russia’s longest railway tunnel

The Severomuysky Tunnel is over 15 kilometers long and is the longest railway tunnel in Russia. Construction took 27 years and was completed in 2003.

Although the SBU did not officially comment on these reports, the Ukrainian Military Intelligence Service (HUR) announced on Thursday that it had carried out a joint operation with the local resistance movement to sabotage railway infrastructure in Moscow Oblast.

A video posted by HUR on social media shows someone setting fire to two train relay boxes that control signals to train drivers. It seems that this person is acting alone. “Disruptions in the operation of Russia’s railways are becoming increasingly common,” Ukrainian intelligence wrote under the video.

“Fire, chaos and paralysis on Russian railways are another consequence of Russia’s war against Ukraine,” HUR said.
