The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said there could be a destructive “tsunami” with waves of “life-threatening” heights following the 7.6 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Mindanao. This is what we read in profile X from the same institute. “Wave heights greater than one meter above normal tides are expected to occur, which may continue for hours and may be higher in bays and locks,” he said. Residents of the provinces of Surigao Del Sur and Davao on the eastern coast of Mindanao were asked to immediately evacuate coastal areas. As for vessel owners in ports, estuaries or shallow coastal waters of the aforementioned provinces “they are obliged to protect their vessels and move away from the coast”. Boats already at sea during this period, however, “must remain at sea until further notice”.

In a video posted by an X user, you can see the exact moment the earth started to shake. The video, probably filmed to record the moment of the toast, was posted on social media by a group of boys who were spending a night at a nightclub. Suddenly, the glasses full of wine begin to move so much that they fall onto the table. The force of the shock can also be understood by the intensity with which the earth moves the palm trees in the background.
