The minor Jesús Alberto Márquez Nieto, 16 years old, could not withstand the burns he suffered on almost his entire body as a result of the fire in his house and died in the last hours of this Sunday, December 3, in a health center. in high complexity.
The minor, together with his brother Édgar Junior Pacheco Nieto, 24, had been brought to the point of care as survivors of the fire that occurred in the early morning in his home, located at 25th Street No. 22. 99, between the Ferrocarril and the neighborhoods El Cortijo, in the municipality of Soledad, and in which his parents Adalberto Márquez Conrado, 58, and Marelvis Rocío Nieto Varela, 46, were fatalities.
At around 3:00 a.m., the Soledad Volunteer Fire Department received a report from the community and the Metropolitan Police of flames consuming a house believed to be occupied by its owners.
Along these lines, members of the rescue team arrived at the site around 3:10 am and proceeded to control the flames. The Márquez Nieto couple were already dead in the house, while their two children had been evacuated by third parties.
At around 3:45 in the morning, firefighters managed to extinguish the fire and went to inform the police of the location of the victims’ bodies.
So far, authorities believe that a short circuit caused the fire in the home of the Márquez Nieto family.
