A duplex in Arlington, Virginia, exploded while police were trying to serve a search warrant. In fact, neighbors had recently reported a series of explosions that sounded like gunshots. Police attempted to reach the suspect via phone and speakerphone, but the suspect did not respond and remained barricaded in the home. After obtaining a search warrant, officers approached the home shortly before 8.25pm on Monday, December 4. The suspect then “fired several shots” from inside the house, followed by an ‘explosion’.
The electricity went out in the whole neighborhood. While there were minor injuries among the police officers, the fate of the person or persons in the house is not yet known.
