Inter-American Court resolution requires state to refrain from releasing Fujimori

The Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IDH Court) published a resolution this Wednesday condemning the State of Peru to refrain from releasing former President Alberto Fujimori to ensure justice for the victims of human rights violations.

This regulation is issued after the Constitutional Court of Peru ordered his immediate release.

Supreme Court President Francisco Morales had declared that authorities should “proceed to the immediate release” of Fujimori, in violation of two Inter-American Court resolutions.
