New accusations are being made against Hunter Biden, son of the US president

The Public Prosecution Service has opened a new criminal case against Hunter Biden, son of US President Joe Biden, media such as CNN announced on Thursday.

The charges being considered in the investigation are still unknown and no court documents have been released. However, the NBC portal suggested that they could be related to tax issues.

The New York Times reported that Hunter Biden was indicted Thursday evening on nine federal charges of evading federal taxes on millions of dollars he earned through his work with foreign companies.

Biden’s 53-year-old son already faces three charges in connection with the purchase and possession of illegal weapons for an addict that he acquired in 2018.

The United States House of Representatives is under Republican control. He is also investigating Biden as part of the investigation opened against his father on suspicion of irregularities, such as exercising influence in favor of family members in the business world.

As part of this investigation, the president’s son will be invited to testify before Congress next Wednesday, December 13.

Last October, Hunter Biden pleaded not guilty in a Delaware court to charges that he bought a gun in 2018, lied and said he didn’t use drugs, though he later admitted he was struggling with a crack addiction.

The accusation against the son of the Democratic president is the result of an investigation launched in 2018 during the administration of Donald Trump (2017-2021) and conducted by the former president himself, now a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, to investigate Biden , with whom he could compete in the 2024 elections.

The investigation, which lasted five years, led to an agreement this year between Hunter Biden’s defense and the Trump-appointed prosecution team, led by prosecutor David Weiss, that could have put an end to the legal drama.

However, this pact has collapsed as Hunter Biden faces trial, which is expected to take place in the middle of the campaign for the November 2024 elections.
