The government “does not plan” to hold general elections
Housing Secretary Michael Gove has insisted the government has “no plans” to hold a general election if Rishi Sunak’s Rwanda bill is rejected.
Questioned on Sunday morning by Trevor Phillips, Mr Gove said: “No, we are not thinking about that because I am sure that when people look at the legislation and have the opportunity to think about it, they will recognize that it is difficult. but also proportional measure.
“And, of course, we heard from the House of Commons.”
