A plastic surgeon from Porto Alegre, southern Brazil, was sentenced on Friday to 36 years and two months in prison for committing sexual crimes against twelve patients between 2005 and 2021, using the medical consultation procedure as a pretext.
The victims reported that during the consultation the surgeon asked them to remove all their clothing and touch them, claiming this was part of the procedure.
They also described attempts to kiss them and perform oral sex on them without their consent, the Court of Justice of the State of Rio Grande do Sul said.
The most serious case is that of the rape of one of the patients, to whom he offered a 3,000 reais ($607) discount on her cosmetic procedure in exchange for her silence about what had happened.
The women, who filed the complaint in September 2020, described a common modus operandi in which they requested sexual favors in exchange for cosmetic procedures.
For all these reasons, he is accused of sexual assault and attempted sexual assault, indecent assault, sexual harassment and sexual rape.
