Putin responds to Biden. Explains why Russia will not attack NATO

The US says Russia will attack NATO to justify mistakes in its policies towards Ukraine, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said.

Putin referred to US President Joe Biden’s words that the Russian Federation may attack NATO if it is not stopped in Ukraine.

– This is complete nonsense. I think President Biden is aware of this. This is just a figure of speech meant to justify his wrong policy towards Ukraine, Putin said on Sunday, as quoted by Russian news agencies.

According to him, the US is not at all interested in ‘delivering Russia a strategic defeat’. – I don’t think this is in the national interest of the United States itself – said the Russian president.

Putin: We have no reason to go to war with NATO

He further argued that Russia was not interested in war with NATO member states. – The entire NATO organization cannot but understand that Russia has no reason and no interest – neither geopolitically, economically, politically nor militarily – to fight with the NATO countries, he assured.

– On the contrary – Putin said – Russia is interested in developing relations with these countries. As he explained, Moscow has no problems with the countries belonging to the Alliance. According to him, “these problems are artificially created because a competitor like Russia is not needed.”

At the same time, he emphasized that NATO is the United States and that Washington “will have to take Russia into account and find common ground with it.”

Russia’s relations with Finland

Referring to Finland’s accession to the Alliance, Putin said that Moscow has always had the “most friendly and cordial relations” with Helsinki, but that in the current situation it is “forced” to establish the Leningrad Military District and “certain military units there. ”

The Leningrad Military District (LOW) existed during the times of the USSR. The headquarters of the district headquarters was located in Leningrad. In 1990, one army and two army corps were stationed in LOW territory, air support was provided by the 76th Air Army, and cover was provided by the 6th and 10th Air Defense Army.

Finland became NATO’s 31st member in April this year. Sweden is still waiting to join the pact.
