Basketball player who kidnapped and killed a girl with the help of his girlfriend was arrested

NBA’s G League player Chance Comanche has been charged with murder after the death of a 23-year-old girl. According to ESPN, a 19-year-old female Stockton Kings player is also under investigation. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said in a statement that they had found the remains of Marayna Rodgers, a medical assistant from Washington state who was last seen in the Las Vegas area. His body was found in a deserted area in Henderson, Nevada.

Comanche, 27, was arrested by FBI agents in California’s Sacramento County on Friday and is being held without bail. His accomplice, 19-year-old Sakari Harnden, was arrested Wednesday in Las Vegas on kidnapping charges and held on $500,000 bail.

“Early in the investigation, detectives suspected foul play and obtained evidence to arrest Harnden and her Comanche boyfriend for their roles in the kidnapping and disappearance of Rodgers,” Las Vegas police said in a statement.

Comanche, a 6-foot-10 center, will have to appear in court and is expected to be extradited to Nevada. He played college basketball at Arizona and also appeared in an NBA game with the Portland Trail Blazers on April 9.
