Three people required hospital treatment following a crash involving a car and van on Heads of Valley Road. Emergency services were called to the scene near Ebbw Vale at around 9.15am on Saturday (December 16).

Gwent Police said there were reports of a collision between a van and a car and confirmed that three people were taken to hospital with injuries.

An 80-year-old man from the Hereford area, who drove the van, and a man and a woman, aged 73 and 74, from the Pontypridd area, who got into the coach, were taken to the hospital, according to a spokesperson for the police.

The Welsh Ambulance Service said it sent three emergency vehicles to the scene, with crews supported by a Cymru Ambulance Service paramedic.

A spokeswoman said: “The Ambulance Service provided advanced CPR and transport in two Welsh charity air ambulances.”

The spokeswoman added: “Three people were taken to hospital.”
