David Kozak and the massacre at the university after delusional messages on social media: His father was also found dead

According to the Prague police, the killer who killed fifteen people and injured thirty others at the Charles University Faculty of Arts on the afternoon of December 21 was 24-year-old Czech student David Kozak. After the massacre in the faculty corridors, the attacker would climb to the roof of the university and fire towards the Manes bridge, which overlooks the central Jan Palach square, a popular street for tourists visiting the Old Town. The Czech capital is especially crowded during this period before Christmas. And just in time for Christmas, students would have completed the academic term tomorrow. However, the killer chose today as the day he planned for the massacre.

This morning the murderer’s father was also found dead in a village about twenty kilometers from Prague. Researchers have not yet published a hypothesis or a definitive version of the reason that armed David Kozak: the 24-year-old actor seems to have been inspired by a similar incident that occurred in Russia in the fall, as can be seen from at least some messages. Apparently he posted it on social media.

Kozak appears to have created a Telegram channel a few days before the attack. It was claimed that the Prague University attacker explained that he was tired of life, that everyone hated him, and that he hated everyone else.

Kozak, a student of the same faculty who was attacked, clearly stated that he wanted to organize a mass shooting, inspired by 14-year-old Alina Afanaskina, who killed a person at a school in Russia on December 7. 2023. “He didn’t kill enough people, I’ll try to figure that out,” Kozak wrote.

According to initial investigations, it appears that the student killer started shooting from the fourth floor of the Faculty of Philosophy. While many students managed to barricade themselves in classrooms, videos of students at the university waiting to be evacuated were also uploaded to social media during the shooting.

The attacker used a sniper rifle and would march through the corridors of the university and then climb onto the terraces to target those in the square below and on the nearby Manes bridge in gruesome target practice.

In the images taken by passersby, some students took shelter on the roof. Unfortunately, one student failed to hold on and fell into the void.

Police confirmed that the gunman had been “eliminated” after he was seen armed on the roof of the Faculty of Arts building. The attacker would fall to his death from the roof after shooting himself.

Link to two other murders

Czech police are pursuing a clue that will link the killer, who killed at least 14 people and injured 24 at Prague University today, to two other murders committed last week in the Klanovicky forest near the Czech capital. Investigators believe the unprecedented killer chose victims at random.
