Similarly, the French President thanked Jordan for its efforts to “achieve peace on the basis of the two-state solution,” with the aim of guaranteeing security and stability in the region, while at the same time recognizing the work of the UN to support aid to the Palestinian territories to double. enclave via the two field hospitals in the Strip.
He also recalled that France has allocated EUR 100 million to help the residents of Gaza, of which almost EUR 1 million has been allocated to the purchase of medicines, medical supplies and ten ambulances, for the two Jordanian field hospitals. Abdullah II of Jordan reiterated the need for the entire world to push for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and to protect civilians, as “the continuation of Israeli aggression will have disastrous consequences for the entire region.”
The Hashemite monarch also warned of “hostile actions carried out by extremist settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank” and violations of Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, “which could lead to the situation in the West Bank spiraling out of control.”
He warned against any attempt to separate the West Bank and Gaza Strip and reiterated the need to implement the two-state solution to achieve peace and stability in the region.
Macron’s visit to Jordan lasts until tomorrow and includes a Christmas meal with French troops abroad, in this case at an air base that Paris installed years ago on Jordanian soil to support the fight against Islamic terrorism in Syria and Iraq.
