The airport was closed due to a suspicious flight with 300 Indians: “It was used for immigrant traffic”

At the request of the French judicial authority, a plane with more than 300 Indian passengers on board was stopped for several hours at Vatry airport near Paris. The airport was closed and the passengers on board were placed in a lounge of the terminal to be closely monitored by police. According to local media reports, there are suspicions that human trafficking is behind this flight.

The plane is owned by Legend Airlines, an American company based in Texas. The plane, which took off from Fujairah airport in the United Arab Emirates on the morning of December 21, was supposed to reach Nicaragua after a short technical break at Vatry airport, where mostly cargo and business flights are made.

The aircraft has made several connections between Fujairah airport and Nicaragua’s capital, Managua, in recent weeks, as shown on the Flight Radar website, which records air traffic. The Paris prosecutor’s office said police intervened following an anonymous tip. The information was taken seriously and the investigation was handed over to the management of Junalco, the National Judicial Department for Combating Organized Crime.

“Identity checks were carried out on 303 passengers and flight crew. Considering the number of persons involved and the international nature of the investigations to be carried out, Junalco took responsibility for the investigations to verify whether the elements support the suspicion of human trafficking by an organized gang,” stated the Paris prosecutor’s office.
