Ukraine and Gaza, Crosetto: “Block the wounds so as not to infect the entire body”

“My hope this Christmas is that the world begins to heal the wounds, which are opening more and more, and we see that each wound that opens makes the situation worse in other parts of the world as well.” Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said this on the sidelines of the visit to Italian soldiers at the NATO base in Malbork, Poland. “What happened in Ukraine – he continued – allowed what happened in the Middle East and what happened in the Middle East allowed those who want to destabilize Africa to start doing so. so we must be careful and block these wounds as quickly as possible to ensure that they do not infect the entire body. I think this is the role of the United Nations and Italy’s role in the world.”

“Italy was the first country to bring humanitarian aid, we were the first to imagine a health mission and I am happy that yesterday a Palestinian girl was born on our ship: a symbol that reminds me that the Palestinian population has nothing to do with the Hamas. I have long hoped for de-escalation; having been the first to understand that Israel had to demonstrate deterrence, I was also the first to say that the Palestinian people had to be respected”, he then commented as the minister follows the issue of the humanitarian emergency in Gaza.
