The shopper ended up regretting leaving his blue sports shirt behind when he went into Tesco to do some last-minute Christmas shopping.
Paul Williams, from Llandaff, walked into the Tesco store on Western Avenue in Cardiff, fresh from a tennis match, to buy some items. And like most people who visit the stores before Christmas, I was hoping to get in and out as quickly as possible.
However, one thing got in the way of her plans for a free trip to Tesco – her blue sports bra, which customers mistook for her store uniform.
Then, within minutes of entering the store, poor Paul was besieged with questions from customers who thought he worked there. And as she walked through the lines trying to get her products, requests to find products in stores came in very quickly.
He joked: “Never go to Tesco after playing tennis in a blue shirt. Especially two days before Christmas.”
Paul said he ended up answering “hundreds” of questions, although we think he may have slowed down a bit for comedic effect. Despite the numbers aside, he definitely achieved more than he bargained for.
After documenting his situation on X, formerly known as Twitter, he made social media users laugh and quickly cracked a few jokes.
One user asked: “Okay, but which aisle is Schloer in?” “Sodas, alcoholic or seasonal drinks?” And another added: “Have you used the staff discount yet?”
I think it’s safe to say that the next time rugby writer Paul goes to Tesco he will choose a different outfit.
