Even at Christmas the war between Russia and Ukraine continues. The Ukrainian Air Force actually destroyed the Russian landing ship Novocherkassk in Feodosia, occupied Crimea. Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk announced: the large landing ship Novocherkassk, suspected of carrying drones to be used in Moscow’s war against Kiev, was “destroyed” by Air Force pilots, we read on Telegram. “People say it was carrying the Shahed,” the Air Force adds, referring to the Iranian explosive drones regularly used by Russia against Ukraine. The military did not reveal where the attack took place, but Air Force Commander Olechtchouk published a video of a fire explosion at the Russian naval base in Feodosia on the Black Sea, on the occupied Crimean peninsula.
Sergey Aksyonov, the Kremlin-backed head of Crimea, expressed himself as follows on the matter: «An enemy attack was carried out in the Feodosia area». «The port area has been isolated», he wrote on Telegram, before concluding: « At the moment the detonation has been stopped and the fire has been localized. All relevant services are on site. The residents of some houses will be evacuated.” Ukraine frequently carries out attacks in Crimea, especially against the Russian army. In April 2022, it sank the cruiser Moskva, flagship of the Black Sea Fleet.
