Ukrainian attack in Crimea: “A Russian ship was destroyed”

Ukrainian forces attacked the Feodosia port of Russian-occupied Crimea. The Air Force announced that it destroyed a ship belonging to the Russian fleet in the Black Sea, suspected of carrying Iranian Shahid unmanned aerial vehicles used by Moscow in the war against Kiev: “The large landing ship Novocherkassk was destroyed by our pilots.”

The Kiev army did not specify the location of the attack, but Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk released a video showing the explosion at the Russian naval base in Feodosia. The attack was confirmed by Moscow-appointed Governor of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov: “A serious explosion and a large fire occurred in the port. Many residents were evacuated from nearby buildings. A ship loaded with ammunition during the attack.”


Images shared on social media show a huge explosion in the port followed by a real cloud of fire. 1 person died and 2 people were injured in the attack. According to the Ukrainian military, the ship was carrying Iranian-made ammunition, including Shahed drones. A heavy blow to the Russian fleet, which, according to Commander Oleshchuk, was “getting smaller and smaller.”

The Shahed drones would be the same ones launched into Ukrainian territory by Russian forces overnight: 13 of the 19 Iranian-made kamikaze drones launched were shot down by Kiev defense forces: “The devices were launched from Balaklava in Crimea and were launched from Primorsko Akhtars in Ukraine.” Odessa, Kherson, Mykolaiv and Khmelnytskyi regions”.
