Dozens of cars, some containing food and gifts, were stuck in a parking lot on Christmas Day as a result of the murder investigation. Police cordoned off a busy car park on High Street in Llandaff, Cardiff, on Christmas Eve as police launched an investigation into the alleged murder of a 23-year-old man.
A 23-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of murder, South Wales Police confirmed in a statement on Sunday, after the 23-year-old alleged victim was found injured in the area on Sunday afternoon. Many people left their cars at the cordon before the alleged incident and were unable to pass the cordon, which remains in place on Tuesday afternoon, while a large police presence, including forensic teams, remains at the scene.
Some said there were Christmas presents and food in the cars that they couldn’t transport. According to eyewitnesses, police officers present at the scene on Tuesday morning allowed some vehicle owners access to their vehicles.

A somber atmosphere reigned at the site on Tuesday, with a small bouquet of flowers lying on the sidewalk outside the perimeter as a sign of respect for the deceased. Armed police were sent to the area on Sunday as a precaution, before the force said it was treating the incident as an isolated incident.
