Erdogan compares Netanyahu to Hitler

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s actions in the Gaza Strip are “no different” from those of Adolf Hitler.

This information was reported by the Turkish state news agency Anadolu. Speaking in Ankara, Erdogan also reiterated his criticism of Western support for Israel, adding that Turkey was ready to accept academics and scientists who have been persecuted in Gaza for their views.

This is not the first time Erdogan has compared Israel to Nazi Germany. In July 2014, the Turkish president accused Israel of “keeping the spirit of Hitler alive” during the war with the Palestinians.

The Turkish leader has increased criticism of Israel during the current war. He also stated that Hamas is not a terrorist organization.

The Israel Times recalls that Israel recalled its diplomats from Turkey in October after Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Israel of committing war crimes. Türkiye later also recalled his ambassador from Israel.

Erdogan: Israel is a terrorist state

In November, the Turkish president accused Israel of committing war crimes. The politician called Israel a ‘terrorist state’. Erdogan spoke before parliamentarians from the Justice and Development Party. During his speech, he addressed Benjamin Netanyahu directly. “Your end will come soon, whether you have nuclear weapons or not,” he said. His words were received with thunderous applause.

Erdogan further stated that Netanyahu is “done” and that his nuclear threats are meaningless. “Palestine is an innocent victim, and as for Israel, it is a terrorist state,” Erdogan emphasized. The president also ruled that Hamas is not a terrorist organization, but a legally operating party chosen by the Palestinians.

In addition, Erdogan said Turkey would try to bring about a situation in which those responsible for the “merciless massacre of the residents of Gaza” would be brought before an international tribunal.
