On Wednesday, December 27, more details were known about the life of American citizen Blake Norvell Norflex, who was shot dead in the middle of a police procedure in the Colombian district of Malambo in events that took place on Tuesday morning.
Norvel Norflex, 32 years old and from Los Angeles, California, USA, had threatened to attack officers of the institution with a firearm, for which he was shot by approximately four uniformed officers, according to the Barranquilla Metropolitan Police. At least fourteen bullets hit the humanity of the person, who later found two firearms in a bag he was carrying. According to the authority, one of them, a revolver, had three fired cartridges.
EL HERALDO learned that the dead man had been in Colombia for three years and that his first destination was the city of Medellín, where he is said to have met a woman with whom he lived.
He then landed in the city of Barranquilla and spent some time in the San Felipe neighborhood, in the city of Suroccidente.
On December 6, the foreigner changed locations and went to the Las Moras neighborhood of Soledad, where he rented a room in the home of an acquaintance.
It was this woman who pointed out that Blake Norvell Norflex, whom she met through a chat to find partners, despite his young age, was a retiree from the US Army and remotely studied the Spanish and French languages.
According to this person’s story, the man had gone to Malambo to retrieve a motorcycle from his property that another woman from the town had in her possession. Apparently that acquaintance did not want to return the vehicle.
As mentioned, the Public Prosecution Service has taken over the investigation into the incident. But internally, the Metropolitan Police is investigating the matter further due to alleged excessive use of force.
