South Wales Police raided three properties last week and found large quantities of drugs, including cocaine and cannabis. Last Tuesday (December 19), officers executed a warrant at a property in Maes Y Dre, Glynneath, where they found “a large quantity of mature cannabis plants”.

Meanwhile, two days later (Thursday 21 December) a separate attack was carried out at Parc Newydd in Briton Ferry. According to that warrant, police said both men were charged with “possession of a large quantity of cocaine, a class B drug and supply offences, and one was found with a Taser”. Both men remain in custody.

Following the operations, Sergeant Will John, of South Wales Police, said: “This success was the result of community intelligence, which has caused understandable concern among local residents. Our position on drug traffickers is clear: we will arrest them as quickly as possible, because drugs are extremely harmful to people and their communities. Public information continues to be vital to our efforts. If you have any information or concerns about drug abuse or crime in general in your area, please contact us.”

Inspector Lynne Bowen-Jones said: “Drugs have incredibly harmful effects on both people and their communities. We continue to combat crime, including drug supply, wherever and whenever it occurs.
