Gaza, “men and children detained naked in a stadium”. Crime in the video that accuses Israel

A video is circulating on social media showing Palestinian men, including at least two children, being detained, without clothes, by Israeli forces in a stadium in northern Gaza. The information was reported by CNN which, specifying that the video is edited, explains that in an image two children appear who are forced to undress, strip down to their underwear and queue up with other men, including teenagers. CNN, which says it was unable to verify when the video was filmed, used geolocation to establish that the footage was filmed at Yarmouk Stadium in Gaza City.

The NGO Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said it had received reports of arrests at sports facilities. The video also shows women and other children in detention: in one image there are three women, dressed and blindfolded, with their hands tied behind their backs, sitting in front of the football field net where an Israeli flag was raised. Next to them were other men in underwear and blindfolded.

In the past, the Israeli military has advocated for detainees to undress to ensure they do not have hidden explosives. The video was uploaded to YouTube on December 24 by Yosee Gamzoo Letova, a photographer and artist according to her Facebook profile. The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said it had received information that the Israelis were holding hundreds of Palestinians from the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City captive in the stadium, and that there were dozens of women. “Palestinian men, including children as young as 10 and elderly people over seventy, are forced to take off all their clothes, remain in their underwear and queue in a humiliating way in front of women detained in the stadium”, denounces the NGO, which asks the community international team to investigate the images coming from the Yarmouk stadium.
