The DJ filmed himself urinating on an elderly man and later posted the footage on social media. Lee Brookfield has apologized for the video he recorded on Boxing Day near the urinals at the Llanelli Tennis and Squash Club. The police are on the case.

In the video, an elderly man can be seen next to Brookfield, 40, at the urinals, talking about his serious health problems. Mr. Brookfield says, “I’m sorry to hear that word,” urinating in the man’s pants. The DJ, who has been a regular at Llanelli venues for around 15 years, posted the video on Snapchat and it was later shared widely on Facebook by people outraged by Brookfield’s behaviour.

Brookfield wrote on Facebook that night that he “was very sorry” and added: “It’s just what me and the boys do when we’re drunk and I didn’t realize until I saw the video that a lovely gentleman was standing next to me.” “I had health problems.” He later told WalesOnline that he was “absolutely drunk” when the incident occurred at around 8pm at the social club and that he “really doesn’t remember what happened”. He added: “My actions were unjustified. I watched the video and I feel disgusted with myself. I put my hand on my heart, I didn’t know what the man was telling me. “I cried seeing what I did.”

The DJ, who said he did not know the elderly man, chatted at the club during what would be his “last” drink before his partner gave birth at the beginning of next year. After leaving the club, Brookfield went to a nearby Wetherspoon pub, where people began arguing with him over the video, which had already been shared on Facebook. He added: “I went out to look and thought, ‘Jesus Christ.’

WalesOnline asked Mr Brookfield if he had done anything similar in the past. He responded, “This is what the guys and I have been doing together for years. It’s just something stupid we’ve done since we were kids, it’s not something we’ve done recently. My friends and I are a unique group of guys, we’re a harmless group of guys, you know? It’s just something we did when we were young in the past. “We all moved on and had families.”

Asked if he had done this to strangers in the past, he said: “We were abroad doing it and the whole pub was doing it in Benidorm, something like that. That’s something I wouldn’t do to a stranger, to me personally. I don’t know what I was thinking, I just left there. I can’t blame the alcohol. I was the one who put it in my mouth to drink.”

A spokeswoman for Dyfed Powys Police confirmed that police were investigating reports of an “assault”. Brookfield told us that he had not yet been contacted by police, but that he “assumes so.” He expected the incident to affect his DJ career (one Llanelli bar, Stamps, had already canceled his set), but added: “That’s not what I’m focused on at the moment. I just want to apologize to the gentleman and his family. “I don’t take care of myself.” You can get more story updates straight to your inbox by subscribing to our newsletters here.

Brookfield plans to contact the elderly man to apologize and pay for the dirty laundry. “I feel sorry for him and his family,” he said. “I know if it was my grandfather or my father I would be absolutely horrified. I wish I could go back in time. “I hope the family can forgive me.”

He added: “I’m 40 years old and I’m sorry. At that age, with a baby on the way, this should have been my last night. Obviously it got out of hand because I don’t drink much and I can’t deal with it like I used to… Everyone who knows me I’m a really nice person who would do anything for anyone I didn’t know until the next day when Mr. from the video told me that there was [health issues]. Why would I download something like that when a man tells me to? It was just me, it’s my fault. What I did is up to me.”

A spokeswoman for Dyfed Powys Police said police were contacted by three people who “reported the attack after seeing the video which was shared on social media”. He added: “These reports relate to an incident which allegedly occurred at the Llanelli Tennis and Squash Club on Boxing Day. “A police officer contacted the victim and the incident is under investigation.”
