Climate activists set fire to a cement factory. They point out what the concrete was to blame for them

‘Climate activists’ set fire to a cement factory in Berlin. As they explained, concrete was responsible for its deadly impact on the climate.

The fire took place in the Berlin-Kreuzberg district on the site of a concrete factory located near the A100 city highway. The fire destroyed several trucks, a technical building and a material transport system. 44 firefighters arrived on the scene. Fortunately, no one was injured. ‘Activists’ set fire to the factory early in the morning, before the factory even started working.

Berlin. Climate activists set fire to a cement factory

After setting fire, representatives of the group “Switch Off!” published a statement on the website ‘Indymedia’ in which they confessed to the act, explained what they demanded and what their motives were.

Their action was, as they indicated, inspired by previous attacks by colleagues from France, Belgium and Switzerland who sabotaged concrete factories. According to the radicals from ‘Switch Off!’ concrete production is ‘totally deadly for the climate’ and generates more carbon dioxide than all air traffic.

Cemex Deutschland AG has not yet estimated the amount of losses incurred. It is known that the company is involved, among other things, in the extension of the A100 highway.

They call on other climate scientists to sabotage them

In their announcement, climate scientists called on other German organizations involved in the “fight for the planet” to undertake similar projects. At the same time, they criticized German ‘climate advocates’ for being indecisive and merely expressing expectations to politicians.

This is what climate scientists from the organization ‘Switch Off!’ say. Group sabotage actions are necessary. ‘Activists’ boasted of an earlier attack on a cement factory in Mulhouse, France, and on the space fair in Bremen.

Other radical climate organizations are also active in Germany, such as ‘Extinction Rebellion’ and ‘The Last Generation’. They deal with, among other things: blocking streets, which even managed to arouse the admiration of the German Minister of Economy and Climate.
