Western elites are trying to destroy Russia. The problem is not that they are helping our enemy, they are our enemy, said Vladimir Putin.
On Saturday, Ukrainian armed forces carried out drone strikes on numerous military targets in various regions of Russia. Kiev claims it was a response to the massive shelling of Ukrainian cities by Russians the day before.
The shelling of Belgorod was reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who ordered the head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashka, to urgently fly to the city. The Commission of Inquiry opened a criminal case based on articles on murder and destruction of property. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation accused Britain of involvement in the attack and demanded an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council. Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia, called the shelling of Belgorod a “planned terrorist attack on a peaceful city.”
Putin points to Russia’s enemy
– Western elites, with the help of Ukraine, are trying to destroy Russia. The problem is not that they are helping our enemy, they are our enemy. They solve their problem with their hands. This has been true for centuries and it remains true, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with Russian soldiers injured in hostilities in Ukraine.
– Ukraine itself is not our enemy. But those who want to destroy the Russian state, who, as they say, want to achieve the strategic defeat of Russia on the battlefield. And they say this especially in the West, the so-called elites for whom the existence of Russia, with its current quality and size, is unacceptable in their opinion, he emphasized.
The Russian leader argued that the battlefield situation in Ukraine is “changing” despite the fact that “the entire so-called civilized West is fighting against Russia.”
“We want to end the conflict as quickly as possible, but on our terms,” Putin said. – Practically speaking, today the strategic initiative is in our hands – he said.
