The terror of the earthquake was not enough. A plane caught fire on the runway at Haneda Airport in Tokyo, Japan. Local TV video showed a flame coming from the side of a Japan Airlines plane as it moved along the runway. The part around the aircraft’s wing caught fire. Subsequent images show firefighters working to put out the fire. It is currently unclear what happened or if there are any victims. NHK television reports that it is Japan Airlines (JAL) flight 516 that departed from Japan’s Shin Chitose airport bound for Tokyo-Haneda. Haneda is one of the busiest airports in Japan and many people travel there during the New Year holidays.
