JAL Flight 516 departed New Chitose airport on the island of Hokkaido with about 400 passengers and crew on board, according to Kyodo news agency.

In the images published by the Japanese media on social media, it is seen that there was a huge explosion and the vehicle instantly burst into flames. After the severe collision, the plane split into two, and the second plane continued its slow journey in flames.
All people on the plane were evacuated and are safe, NHK broadcaster reported, citing Japan Airlines sources. 367 passengers and 12 crew members managed to escape before flames engulfed the plane. However, 5 of the 6 coast guard officers on the second plane are missing. Meanwhile, local authorities suspended all flights to and from Haneda Airport, one of Japan’s busiest airports.
