Mexican businessman Carlos Bremer dies at the age of 63

Bremer, close to the president Andrés Manuel López Obradorhelped Mexican students and athletes with scholarships and participated as one of the ‘sharks’ in the television program Shark Tank Mexico.

Last Tuesday, the businessman fainted due to a pre-infarction he suffered at the offices of his company in the state of Nuevo León and his health condition was reportedly stable.

“It is with deep sadness that Value Grupo Financiero announces that Mr. Carlos Bremer Gutiérrez, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager, passed away today in a hospital in the Monterrey metropolitan area” due to “complications caused by the fainting spell he suffered on Tuesday, January 2 2024,” the company said in a statement.

“Value Grupo Financiero and its associates would like to pay tribute to a man with values, ideals and leadership, who had a deep human feeling and social commitment: a businessman who believed, supported and loved Mexico,” the text said.

The company indicated that Bremer assumed overall leadership of Value Grupo Financiero in 1993 and under his leadership the financial group increased equity and market penetration throughout the country.

“At the same time, he carried out extensive work on behalf of various charities, work that included support for sports, education, various artistic activities and many other philanthropic causes,” the statement emphasized.

Bremer was born in the city of Monterrey, New Lionon June 1, 1960. He graduated with a degree in Accounting from the Technological Institute of Higher Studies (Tec) of Monterrey.

His business activities, he says, started when he was 12 years old selling calculators, while he started in the financial sector at the age of 19. He also studied Accounting at the Institute of Technology and Higher Studies of Monterrey.

In 1993 he founded Grupo Financiero Value, which included Value Casa de Bolsa, Fina Arrenda and Nice factor. Since 2010 he has been Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Bremer He was one of the richest men in Mexico and his fortune was estimated at approximately $67,000 million.
