The Minister of Security of the State of Mexico reported that five people, allegedly members of La Familia Michoacana, including a minor, have been arrested for allegedly committing the crime of extortion.
The incidents occurred at a time when the nationals wanted to kidnap a merchant from Acatzingou in the municipality of Tenancingo, leading to a confrontation that left one person dead and five arrested.
In a statement, the Ministry of Security pointed out that the intervention of police elements prevented the merchant from being kidnapped.
He explained that the monitoring of the complaints and the measures taken to curb kidnappings in the establishment allowed the identification of this group. “who apparently made payments. for land rights for the residents of this district.”
During the operation, four men and a 15-year-old girl, traveling in a blue Chevrolet Aveo, opened fire on state police troops. The officers caught up with them and were arrested.
The facility said police repelled the attack, which left two suspects injured and another later dead.
Officers transferred the detainees to regional prosecutor’s offices, where their legal status is being determined.
The injured suspects were taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
