A line in the church. Protesters disrupted Biden’s speech

Pro-Palestinian protesters disrupted US President Joe Biden’s speech at a Protestant church in Charleston.

The US president spoke at the Mother Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina. This is the temple where a racist massacre took place in June 2015. Dylann Roof, then 21, opened fire on black parishioners, killing nine people.

During his speech, Biden focused on condemning racism in the United States and so-called White supremacy. He assured that this poison has no place in modern America.

Charleston. Disrupted speech by the American president

At one point the speech was interrupted by a group of people who wanted to express their solidarity with the expulsion and killing of Palestinians by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip.

– If you really care about the loss of life, you should honor the lives lost and call for a ceasefire in Palestine – one of the people present in the temple shouted at the politician.

Moments later, the group began chanting the slogan “ceasefire now.” Biden tried to calm the protesters, but to no avail. The confusion ended when the president’s security escorted them out of the church.

– I understand their passion. But I am quietly working with the Israeli government to convince them to scale back and meaningfully exit Gaza, Biden noted, referring to the Israeli army’s military actions.

Biden’s article on Palestine

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is one of the most important political issues in the United States today.

Let us not forget that in an article entitled ‘The US will not back down from the challenge of Putin and Hamas’, recently published in the Washington Post, the US President wrote that a two-state solution is the only way to guarantee the long term . long-term security of both the Israeli and Palestinian people.

In the article, Biden standardly expressed his administration’s support for Israel. “We stand firmly with the Israeli people as they defend themselves against the murderous nihilism of Hamas,” he wrote.

Biden emphasized that the United States would not give in to the actions of Putin and Hamas. “Both Putin and Hamas are fighting to wipe the neighboring democracy off the map. Both Putin and Hamas hope to destroy broader regional stability and integration and exploit the resulting chaos. America cannot and will not allow this to happen. In our own interests, national security – and for the good of the entire world,” the Democrat wrote.
