Vladimir Putin is preparing for a final offensive in the war against Ukraine. But the situation is stagnant despite Kiev’s difficulties and Russia could therefore opt for an extreme path to reach the checkers. The alarm was raised by Hamish de Bretton-Gordon, a chemical weapons expert, interviewed by the Telegraph: “In my opinion, the only weapons that Russia has that could achieve the objective in this period of time would be a tactical nuclear weapon or some kind of chemical or biological attack. An extremely dangerous offensive, an apocalyptic attack.”
de Bretton-Gordon issues a warning to the entire West: “Like Stalin, Putin has an insatiable ego and a desire for greatness at any cost. Those in the West who believe that a ceasefire could be followed by a return to “normality” are utterly foolish. We must fully support and arm Ukraine. If we don’t do this – warns the military expert – within a few years NATO will be at war with Moscow”.
